While many metals were scarce in the production of the prototypes in times of war and savings had to be made wherever possible, we went the opposite way with our new Arnold model!

The heavy goods train tender locomotive in N gauge is made almost entirely of high-quality die-cast metal. The engine placed in the boiler is quiet, powerful and has a brass flywheel. There is space for a decoder and loudspeaker in the tender.

Almost always and in Germany as well as in Austria, the prototypes could be seen in action in front of long coal trains. Therefore, the new Arnold models are the perfect motive power for the HN6381, HN6382 and HN6383 car sets.

The production of the series 42, initially called "KDL 3", began in 1943. After the Second World War, the approximately 1,000 machines were scattered all over Europe and until 1949 some were even reproduced.

At the ÖBB, the last class 42 only went out of service in 1968, in Germany a little earlier.
