The youngest member of the Vectron family - the Vectron Dual Mode - combines the advantages of a fully-fledged diesel locomotive with those of electric locomotives. Thanks to the powerful diesel drive and the equipment for using the catenary, the locomotive can react flexibly to traction requirements at any time. In cities and metropolitan areas, the issue of environmental pollution is becoming increasingly important. the Vectron Dual Mode makes an important contribution to sustainable freight transport. The locomotives from MKB, Captrain, SETG and Northrail/Paribus are currently being used. DB Cargo has specifically ordered 146 Vectron Dual Mode to make transport more sustainable from 2023.
