In the course of the presentation of the new Nightjet generation, 1216 012, among other things, was redesigned as an advertising medium for ÖBB's successful night train division. The new Nightjet push-pull trains will in future be pulled by class 1216 Taurus locomotives. 1216 012 is one of the locomotives registered for Italy and often pulls the so-called Brenner ECs from Munich via Innsbruck to Venice.
