From 2001, all IC carriages were designed in a new color scheme. The base color of this design is light gray (RAL 7035) with a wide traffic red stripe (RAL 3020) below the windows. Some UIC-X carriages in the original design also received this paintwork and were used as booster carriages in IC trains.
