Based on the EW1 standard car with bellows and an ABDe4/8 type driver's cab, the Schweizerische Waggonfabrik Schlieren (SWS) delivered six Bt control cars to the BLS in 1963.
From 2005, four of these control cars were converted for the car transport trains. They were given a motorbike compartment, among other things. After the conversion, the cars were listed as BDt 946-949 at the BLS. Initially, the control cars still had the blue/beige color scheme, which gave way to umbra gray and green from 2007.
