ESU 59118 LokPilot 5 Fx micro DCC / MM / SX Next18

The LokPilot 5 Fx micro and its "twin" LokPilot 5 Fx micro DCC are versatile function decoders with a Next18 interface on an area of 13.0mm x 9.2mm. They are used in all vehicles of nominal sizes N to H0 that do not have an engine output, but should still be able to switch light effects.

Modes of operation
The LokPilot 5 Fx micro is a multi-protocol decoder. He masters the data format DCC as well as Motorola® and Selectrix®. In the DCC format, 14 to 128 speed steps are as natural as 2 and 4-digit addresses and up to 32 functions. With the help of RailComPlus® technology, the decoders log on to a suitable digital center fully automatically.

It masters all DCC programming modes and can be driven and programmed with compatible digital central units: Thanks to RailCom®, the CV values on the main track can be read out with suitable central units. Auxiliary registers exist for central units that can only program CVs from 1-255.

Motorola® users benefit from up to 28 speed levels with 255 addresses. Three additional Motorola® addresses enable 16 functions to be triggered. A built-in programming mode also enables reprogramming with the venerable 6021 Control Unit.

The LokPilot 5 Fx micro DCC "only" speaks the DCC protocol, but can also be automatically registered with the appropriate control centers with RailComPlus®.

The LokPilot 5 Fx micro decoder recognizes the Märklin® braking sections as well as ZIMO® HLU / ZACK commands or the Lenz® ABC system. Braking with DCC brake modules or with direct voltage is also possible. It also stops with a Selectrix® braking diode. An ABC automatic shuttle train enables automatic commuting between two train stations. Although this decoder has of course no motor output, this is also important for a function decoder in order to be able to synchronize the control car and the motor car.

The LokPilot 5 Fx micro decoder can be used on analogue direct and alternating current railways; the LokPilot 5 Fx micro DCC on analogue direct current railways. The decoder switches between the operating modes fully automatically "on-the-fly". Usually nothing needs to be adjusted.

Functions
The LokPilot 5 Fx micro or LokPilot 5 Fx micro DCC has been equipped with an astonishing number of function outputs. There are 6 amplified function outputs, each with 180mA output current, as well as two logic level outputs for servos or Susi. The brightness of each output can be adjusted separately.

Teamwork
LokPilot 5 Fx micro are designed to interact with LokSound 5 and LokPilot 5 decoders: For example, it is possible to equip the locomotive of a multiple unit with a LokSound 5 micro decoder and the control car with a LokPilot 5 Fx micro. Assuming the same address, both behave absolutely identically. The identical arrangement of the CVs makes it easier to coordinate the two decoders.

Operational safety
On request, a PowerPack can be connected to the LokPilot 5 Fx micro and LokPilot 5 Fx micro DCC to bridge dirty rail sections.
