Büssing AG was founded by Heinrich Büssing in 1903 as Heinrich Büssing, special factory for motor trucks, motor buses and engines, Braunschweig, Elmstraße and developed into one of the largest suppliers of buses and trucks in Central Europe with considerable exports overseas. Especially since the 1930s, buses with the lion emblem have shaped the image of urban transport. Büssing's specialties were vehicles with underfloor motors. In 1971 the company was taken over by MAN.
