Model of the station Kamen in the scale 1: 160 track N. Optionally available the suitable platform N-B00092
In Kamen are the model railway Union and our large model train shop at home. Therefore, our production has rebuilt the historic station in Kamen in the scale 1: 160 (lane N).
The Kamen train station dates back to the Cologne-Minden period and was built in 1847. The reception building is, apart from the one in Minden, the only one still extant from this period. In the construction of the Cologne-Minden railroad, the operationally necessary facilities had first priority. Therefore, many reception buildings were completed later or replaced by final buildings. The monopoly monopoly built after the beginning of coal mining in the 1870s for the coal or material transport a connecting line to the Cologne-Minden railway.
The influence of the school of Karl Friedrich Schinkel is recognizable in the classical style of the building. It is a prime example of the smaller station buildings of the Cologne-Minden railway of this time. The station building consists of a two-storey center section with seven window axes on the track side, with the openings complete round arch. At the front sides connect smaller wings. Toward the station forecourt the middle three window axes emerge as a gabled risalit. The whole building is provided with a square plaster and has the typical flat-inclined saddle roof.
