Model of a machine hall with chimney, executed as a half relief. The model is part of our building series on the subject of Maschinenfabrik Johann, which can be combined with each other.
The building is constructed at an angle of 7 ° oblique to the straight background. The left side of the building is lower than the right side and the building is slightly diagonal to the plant background. The angular construction creates a realistic look on the layout or diorama. The problem of too many parallels (edge ??of the system, tracks and buildings) is thereby avoided. A straight version is available under the number N-i00032.
The machine hall with chimney is the heart of the factory. Here stood the steam engine (later diesel and electric motors), which supplied the plant with energy. Next to the machine hall is the boiler room, from which the chimney for the removal of the combustion gases protrudes. As was often the case with machine shops, large windows are installed to ensure that not only enough light enters the hall, but visitors can also see and admire the steam engines. The steam engines were often the pride of the company. The kit contains a photo print that can be used as a background for the inside. You have the choice to stick it directly behind the windows or at the back of the building. The latter then opens up the possibility of further shaping the hall with an inner life. Likewise, a photo print with tiles for the bottom of the machine hall is included.
