Our model is based on the jetties which, up to the 1970's, stood in the harbour of Sassnitz (Rügen).Contrary to the original our model has only 1 track. The prototype had a y-point on the second bridge segment, facilitating ferries with 2 track cargo bays. Although only 2 generalised sketches exist we have been able to reproduce the complex construction of the bridge. A jetty serves the loading of ferries and is constructed in such a way that the water level differences between tides can be overcome, making it possible to load the ferries at any given time. The jetties in Sassnitz contained two bridge segments, making it highly flexible. The first bridge was operated by means of two motors driving two worms, the second one used cables and contra weights. The model is constructed in such a way that it is moveable, giving you the opportunity to fix the bridge at any height. The kit includes 3D printed motors and worms. For building this kit expierence is advised!
