The newest Shinkansen bullet train, “Hayabusa,” meaning “falcon,” made its debut on March 5, 2011 on the Tohoku Shinkansen Line between Tokyo and Shin-Aomori and travels at a top speed of 300 km/h, the highest ever reached speed achieved for the operation of Shinkansen trains. Kato will be the first to produce the N-scale model after its debut, accurately reproducing its features, including the unique shape of the aerodynamically optimal upper nose, the longest Shinkansen models ever produced, and the skirts that fully cover trucks, as well large windbreaks for pantographs as well as its peculiar color schemes (green/white).
