The update (the firmware download from the internet is free) can be performed with the decoder installed on the track (no need to open the vehicle) and is carried out either via the FCC digital command station or the programmer. If the necessary hardware is not available, Doehler & Haass will provide a programmer on loan upon request.
The DHSP10A vehicle decoder supports braking with asymmetric digital voltage (four diodes in series and one diode antiparallel, Lenz ABC), slow speed (with suitable braking modules) and bidirectional communication (locomotive address feedback in DCC operation, RailCom®).
For SX1 programming, any SUSI module or buffer connected to the supply voltage (VS) must be removed. It is sufficient to interrupt the supply voltage (red wire for SUSI) for the duration of the SX1 programming. SX2 and DCC programming are not affected by this.
Generally speaking: No guarantee can be given for SX1 programming. Please configure SX1 operation using SX2 parameter programming.
