FKS 160-180-06 - Opel Blitz LF8 rear-loading kit with front-mounted pump

The Opel Blitz was one of the most distinctive commercial vehicles of the 1950s. The LF8 fire engine body of the LF8 model combined the robust, lightweight truck chassis with a specialized firefighting body designed for speed, reliability, and ease of maintenance. Typical of Era III, the body, engine, and technology reflected post-war logistics (resource scarcity, a focus on local self-sufficiency, and the desire for practical, everyday emergency vehicles). The LF8 version was used as a fire engine – often equipped with a pump, water tank, and hoses. In the 1950s and 1960s, fire departments had to arrive quickly at the scene, transport or pump water, and initiate effective initial firefighting operations.

This model represents the Opel Blitz LF8 in its historical operational variant as a fire engine used by fire brigades in the post-war period.
